IPC conducts special service for mu-X, D-Max May 8, 2023 12:52 PM Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC), the local unit of Japanese truck maker Isuzu, will conduct a special service campaign on 2,273 units of its sports utility models mu-X and pick-up model D-Max. In an advisory Monday, May 8, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said IPC will conduct a tightening of the lower second steering shaft bolt of the two models for a total of 2,273 units, comprising of 1,579 units of Isuzu mu-X and 694 units of Isuzu D-Max with production dates 2020 up to October 2022. The DTI advisory followed after the company said in a letter, April 27, 2023, to DTI Undersecretary Ruth B. Castelo that it intends to undertake correction on the lower second steering shaft bolts of the imported mu-X and D-Max units, that may have been tightened below the specified torque value. “Given the road conditions in the Philippines, it may possibly loosen over time,” said Ernesto Corocoto, IPC technical service section head, in the letter. With that, IPC will inspect and re-tighten the bolts to meet the required torque value as precautionary measure. Customers will be notified via their registered addresses to bring their units to IPC authorized dealers for necessary correction and quality testing to be done in two hours free of charge. related stories
