20FIFTY Partners and Uisce Éireann/Irish Water have announced an expansion to their Certified Water Steward Programme for Irish businesses. The programme is comprised of online mentorships and support workshops led by sustainability experts, and it is aimed at those responsible for water management within their company. Participants received a detailed introduction to the basics of water stewardship, mapping water usage within the business, identifying opportunities for conservation and guidance on developing and implementing a strategic action plan. At the end of the course, participants will have gained valuable skills and understanding at an individual level, while also receiving practical ideas on how to implement conservation techniques on site. Over 600 water stewards received training through the Certified Water Steward Programme, which is run with the support of Water Stewardship Ireland and the Lean & Green Skillnet , and 15 sites have received international certifications. Participants of the programme in 2022 represented a wide range of sectors and industries, including pharmaceuticals, medtech, hospitality, manufacturing and retail. “The Certified Water Steward Programme is essential for any business seeking to implement sustainable water usage practices, positively impact climate action goals, and ultimately, deliver cost benefits," said Ken Stockil, CEO of 20FIFTY Partners. 20FIFTY Partners and Uisce Éireann have expanded the Certified Water Steward Programme for Irish Businesses in 2023. "20FIFTY Partners has developed a range of business supports to deliver best practice training and mentorship to organisations, enabling them to make the changes necessary on the journey towards net zero.” In 2022, 20FIFTY Partners (formerly Central Solutions) worked with over 700 Irish companies, helping to upskill over 1,700 professionals in the areas of sustainability, resource conservation and management. “Water conservation is a priority for Uisce Éireann and we are delighted to collaborate with 20FIFTY Partners in the development and delivery of the Certified Water Steward Programme," said Geoffrey Bourke, business operations manager of Uisce Éireann. "Any action that businesses take to conserve and improve water usage practices is welcomed, and this programme will give them the education and guidance they need to make informed decisions. "We are also supporting our business customers with water conservation resources on our website, including best practice tips, case studies and bespoke guides for different industries at water.ie.” The deadline for applications for the Certified Water Steward Programme is 5 April, 2023.
