Real-time Analytics News for Week Ending July 10 In this week’s real-time analytics news: BMC intros mainframe DevOps features for the autonomous digital enterprise, and more. Keeping pace with news and developments in the real-time analytics market can be a daunting task. We want to help by providing a summary of some of the items our staff came across each week. Here are some of the news items from this week: BMC announced several new innovations and integrations for the Autonomous Digital Enterprise. The announcements fall within the BMC Automated Mainframe Intelligence (BMC AMI) and BMC Compuware portfolios designed to improve threat detection and response and expand access to mainstream DevOps tools to modernize mainframe applications and increase developer productivity. These updates enable users to: Uncover weaknesses and malicious activity before a compromise occurs with automated detection and response to suspicious or unusual, privileged user activity. Accelerate development team output with new integrations that simplify continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines, as well as orchestrate automated deployments across multiple platforms. Increase mainframe performance and resilience with a solution that diagnoses potential Java Virtual Machine (JVM) performance issues, a valued capability given the increase in Java applications running on mainframes. Improve the mainframe developer and systems programmer experience with a contribution to the Open Mainframe Project’s Zowe framework. AT&T and Google Clo u d are announcing new solutions across AT&T’s 5G and Google Cloud’s edge computing portfolio, including AT&T’s on-premises Multi-access Edge Compute (MEC) solution, as well as AT&T Network Edge capabilities through LTE, 5G, and wireline. AT&T Multi-access Edge Compute (MEC) with Google Cloud combines AT&T’s existing 5G and MEC offering with core Google Cloud capabilities, including Kubernetes, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), data analytics, and a robust edge ISV ecosystem. AT&T Network Edge (ANE) with Google Cloud will enable enterprises to deploy applications at  Google edge points of presence (POPs) AT&T’s 5G and fiber networks. In this low-latency compute and storage environment, businesses can deliver faster, more seamless enterprise and customer experiences. AT&T and Google Cloud are focusing on a multi-year strategy to bring the solution to 15+ zones across major cities. IBM announced CodeFlare, an open-source framework for simplifying the integration and efficient scaling of big data and AI workflows onto the hybrid cloud. CodeFlare is built  on top of Ray , an emerging open-source distributed computing framework for machine learning applications. CodeFlare extends the capabilities of Ray by adding specific elements to make scaling workflows easier. Additionally, CodeFlare simplifies the acceleration of complex multi-step analytics and machine learning pipelines on the hybrid multi-cloud. HPE announced the acquisition of Ampool, an innovative developer of a data platform designed to deliver a cloud-native, high-performance SQL analytics engine for data engineers and business analysts. Ampool will join the HPE Ezmeral software organization and will play a role in accelerating HPE Ezmeral analytics runtime for interactive SQL workloads, helping to improve quality, repeatability, throughput, and time to value for AI/ML, analytics, and data-intensive workloads. Vantiq announced it will collaborate with IBM to help clients adopt an edge computing strategy designed to enable them to move data and applications seamlessly across hybrid cloud environments, from private data centers to the edge. The combination of IBM Edge Application Manager and Vantiq’s low-code platform for real-time systems can help enterprises leverage real-time data to help position them to run smarter businesses. Reply announced today that it has developed an end-to-end solution architecture for autonomous mobile robots (AMR) on Microsoft Azure that enables new business applications across industries, reduces upfront costs, and allows for the rapid implementation of customer-specific robotics use cases. The solution combines Microsoft Azure services, the agility of Boston Dynamics’ SPOT, and Reply’s knowledge of intelligent cloud computing services, edge computing, and artificial intelligence. In addition, Reply integrates Azure cognitive services, machine learning, and DevOps as well as Power Apps and Power BI. Canaan announced the release of the Kendryte K510 (the “K510”), an independently designed and developed RISC-V-based edge AI chip. The K510 has several key technical advantages. The original data flow computing technology of the K510 improves the chip’s computing power by approximately three times. In addition, by adopting a RISC-V open-source architecture, the K510 is highly customizable and capable of empowering developers in their execution of scenario-based development. Atos launched its Atos Computer Vision Platform , its new highly scalable end-to-end AI video and image analytics platform. It brings together a set of pre-trained and customizable AI models, enriched by consultancy expertise with 6 Atos AI Computer Vision labs worldwide, based on high-performance hardware and software. Atos Computer Vision Platform enables organizations to process and analyze massive amounts of complex video and image data in real-time so that they can automatically monitor, manage, and improve working practices, and improve security and surveillance processes across a wide range of sectors such as manufacturing, transportation, and retail/airport security. Tengu.io announced that it has further developed its DataOps orchestration platform. The latest developments add functionalities aimed at data analysts. They can use the platform to get started faster with automated systems that require little technical knowledge. Additionally, the platform makes it easy to retrieve and connect data faster, thus gaining valuable insights faster, which allows companies to react three times faster to market opportunities. Amazon Web Services  (AWS) announced a new, free six-week Twitch training course aimed at helping individuals prepare for the highly sought-after AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification. The Twitch series, AWS Power Hour: Architecting,  kicks off on Monday, July 12, and provides interactive and dynamic learning, including quizzes and exercises, to participants to help them build the skills to pursue their certification. Other real-time analytics news: Wobot.ai announced the launch of a new SaaS-based and simplified version of its product. Wobot.ai is now equipped with 100+ AI-powered checklists built for businesses across industries such as QSRs, cloud kitchens, restaurants, hospitality, retail, and manufacturing. Siren , a provider of Investigative Intelligence analytics, announced a new partnership agreement with  LMI , a technology consultancy that works with the United States federal government, including the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, and other agencies. Lumen Technologies  announced a strategic relationship with Microsoft for improving enterprise application delivery by bringing Microsoft Azure capabilities onto the Lumen platform. Mutual customers will be able to run their Microsoft-based solutions closer to where digital interactions are occurring using the global Edge Computing services of Lumen. SnapLogic announced the launch of its new  Enterprise Automation Professional Certification  program, aimed at helping developers become experts in utilizing the SnapLogic Intelligent Integration Platform. The Enterprise Automation Professional Certification program is available to all, free of charge. Immuta announced it is now available to provide automated data access control in Snowflake’s Partner Connect portal. Immuta’s integration with Snowflake Partner Connect will enable Snowflake users to launch an Immuta instance preconfigured with Snowflake connection credentials, enabling customers to begin automatically discovering sensitive data, creating fine-grained access control policies, and safely sharing data in minutes. Veritone announced new features and enhancements to Veritone’s aiWARE operating system (OS). Veritone aiWARE 3.0 offers AI, ML, and IT developers the performance, scale, and cost, improved app support, and workflow development and integration enhancements to operationalize AI and ML and greatly accelerate their intelligent process automation initiatives. Quantexa launched the latest version of its Contextual Monitoring and Investigations solution for financial crime and fraud detection and investigation. Quantexa Syneo automates time-intensive manual data gathering and analysis, empowers investigators with intuitive visualization tools for exploration and decision making, and proactively improves enterprise-wide risk detection. Anodot announced that it had been granted a US patent for its Heuristic Inference of Topological Representation of Metric Relationships. The patent covers Anodot’s machine learning (ML) based correlation analysis that allows enterprises to automatically discover non-obvious cross-siloed anomalies that can impact revenues.
