Troopers seek Nunam Iqua snowmachiners believed last seen in Marshall Alaska Dispatch News Email Print Text Size -A +A Alaska State Troopers are asking for help finding two Nunam Iqua snowmachiners who announced plans to stop in one Western Alaska village over the weekend and were seen in another. According to a dispatch issued late Sunday, troopers were alerted shortly before noon Sunday that 36-year-old Bernard Afcan had left St. Mary’s, roughly 450 miles west-northwest of Anchorage, on Saturday. He reportedly had one passenger, 18-year-old Chenelle Adams. “(Afcan) left St. Mary’s at (9 a.m. Saturday), stating he was headed to Anchorage by snowmachine via Aniak,” troopers wrote. “His snowmachine is a black and white Arctic Cat Z1 1000 Turbo, single seat.” Troopers believe Afcan and Adams were spotted at the store in Marshall, about 25 miles east of St. Mary’s, at roughly 4:30 p.m. Saturday. “Afcan is wearing a green parka and black snow pants, and Adams is wearing a camo coat and black snow pants,” troopers wrote. “They are not pulling a sled, extra fuel, or camping gear.” Anyone who has seen Afcan or Adams is asked to call troopers in either Aniak at 675-4398 or in Bethel at 543-2294.
