Producer of medical devices based on intraluminal ultrasound, a technology that provides more diagnostic information than any other real-time imaging product. The first product, INTERPRET Digital Imaging System, received FDA approval in May 1990. INTERPRET is used during angioplasty, athrectomy, and laser ablation procedures for real-time information regarding lesion size, plaque, calcium content, arterial wall architecture, and integrity of the lumen. In June 1991 the FDA approved a second product, which is the smallest intravascular ultrasound catheter on the market. This device offers diagnostic capability both before and after therapy. InterTherapy is developing a new generation of medical devices with diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities using the intraluminal ultrasound technology for treatment of gastrointestinal, gynecological, and urological disease.
