Headcount: The Latest in Hirings, Firings, and Retirings — September 6, 2018

Carter joined Aryaka from his role as president and CEO of Inteliquent, a Chicago-based telecommunications company. Prior to Inteliquent, he held a number of executive roles at Sprint including president of its global enterprise business. Peters took over as CEO from Shawn Farshchi in May of this year. According to his  LinkedIn profile, Peters provides “Interim CEO/COO and CEO coaching services to Venture Capital Community.” AlienVault CEO to Head New AT&T Security Unit Following AT&T’s acquisition of AlienVault , the company named AlienVault President and CEO Barmak Meftah as president of AT&T Cybersecurity Solutions and CEO of AlienVault. AT&T created the new standalone cybersecurity business division to expand its security offerings. Meftah will head up the division, building on the AlienVault threat prevention technology and combining it with AT&T’s suite of managed security services. The company said that AlienVault’s threat detection platform will be a key part of the security portfolio that it sells to small- and medium-sized businesses. AT&T also plans to incorporate AlienVault’s security platform into its intelligent edge network. Kontron Brings On Inocybe Execs Following Inocybe Technologies’  acquisition by Kontron this month,  Inocybe CEO John Zannos will act as GM of Kontron’s Inocybe business, and Inocybe Founder Mathieu Lemay will serve as the chief strategy officer of the Inocybe business. Kontron purchased Inocybe to bring its OpenDaylight SDN controller expertise to the company. Kontron’s strategy has been to integrate open source on platforms as much as possible. Inocybe’s involvement with OpenDaylight makes it a competitor of Lumina Networks. It also competes in the same ecosystem as companies involved with the OpenSwitch project, such as Dell EMC. In addition to Inocybe’s SDN controller technology, Kontron also picks up a new customer group — enterprises. And it gets Inocybe’s software delivery platform. Movers and Shakers Silver Peak appointed Michael O’Brien as VP of worldwide channel sales to lead its global SD-WAN channel program, and it named Doug Woodley as VP of its new North America enterprise sales organization. Former Amazon Web Services (AWS) general manager Tim Wagner joined Coinbase as its VP of engineering. Facebook Chief Security Officer Alex Stamos left the company to join Stanford University as an adjunct professor. HPE promoted 20-year veteran Pradeep Kumar to head HPE Pointnext, which is the company’s organization for hybrid IT and intelligent edge computing. Ex-Baidu COO and Ex-Microsoft executive Qi Lu was named the head of Y Combinator China , a startup incubator. Array Networks named former F5 Networks Architect Vinod Pisharody as CTO. French hosting company OVH named Michel Paulin as CEO. Paulin replaces OVH Founder Octave Klaba who will remain as chairman of the board. Former HP CMO Antonio Lucio joined Facebook as its CMO, replacing Gary Briggs. David Helfer was appointed as SVP of UK, Europe, Middle East, and Africa sales of F5 Networks . SAP Chief Product Owner Veronika Schmid-Lutz was elected as chair of the OPC Foundation ’s board of directors. CA Technologies elected CEO Mike Gregoire as chairman of its board of directors, following Art Weinbach’s retirement from the position. It also elected Rohit Kapoor to serve as the board’s lead independent director. Michael Christenson and Caroline Watteeuw joined New Relic ’s board of directors. Cheryl Hung left Storage OS to become the director of ecosystem at the Cloud Native Computing Foundation . Ruckus Networks named Bart Giordano as its SVP of global sales. SD-WAN provider CloudGenix promoted Aaron Edwards to field CTO. Previously, he served as director of technical marketing. Software AG named Raj Datta as president of its North American business. Talend named Adam Meister as its chief financial officer. Greg DiFraia was hired to fill the new role of field CTO at Scality . Sysdig hired Larry Castro as its VP of finance and corporate operations. GTT Communications named Martin Ford as its UK division president and Jesper Aagaard as its Europe division president. Lattice Semiconductor appointed Jim Anderson as president and CEO. He replaces Glen Hawk, who will serve as a special advisor to Anderson before he leaves to pursue other interests. Trustwave named George Tomic as the SVP of engineering and Julie Nagle as the SVP of human resources. Portworx named Steve Ackley as chief revenue officer and Kent Munson as director of solutions architecture and customer success. Former Duo Security VP Jason Stutt was hired as SVP of global sales at Luminate Security . Inseego CEO Dan Mondor was elected as chairman of the company’s board of directors, replacing Phil Falcone. Jim Avery and Brian Miller also joined the board. Mavenir named Sanjay Bakaya as the regional VP of India and South Asia. Crowdstrike named Paul Shinn as its chief legal officer. Former CEO of ID Analytics Scott Carter was named chairman of Fhoosh ’s board of directors. Managed security services provider (MSSP) Proficio hired Paul Hennebury as VP of client success. Riverbed appointed Rebecca Hazard as its general counsel and corporate secretary on its board. NTT Communications company Secure-24 promoted Michael BeDell to CEO. Visual management company Targetprocess appointed Richard Leavitt, formerly of Alchemy API before it was acquired by IBM Watson, to its board. Cisco SVP and Chief Strategy Officer Hilton Romanski left the company to join private equity firm Siris Capital. AT&T ’s Jeff McElfresh and Melissa Arnoldi swapped jobs. McElfresh will now serve as president of AT&T Technology and Operations, and Arnoldi will now act as CEO of Vrio. Former Cisco and VeloCloud executive Michael Wood joined Apstra in the newly created chief of marketing role. Symantec plans to cut 8 percent of its global workforce, about 900 employees.
