Northwest Indiana Grocer Expanding Updated: By Wes Mills, Content Manager (photo courtesy: The Times of Northwest Indiana) JASPER COUNTY - A regional supermarket chain in northwest Indiana is adding to its lineup. Our partners at the Times of Northwest Indiana report Highland-based Indiana Grocery Group has acquired buying Tysen’s Country Market Inc. in DeMotte. Financial terms were not disclosed. The store in Jasper County will operate under the Strack & Van Til name. Indiana Grocery Group operates 20 supermarkets in the region, including Town & Country Market in Valparaiso. “We are pleased that Strack & Van Til is acquiring this store," Todd Hinson and Greg Hamstra of Tysen’s Country Market said in a statement. "Strack’s corporate culture parallels the way we do business. They are a local company that has a commitment to Northwest Indiana.” Indiana Grocery Group told the publication that the current management and employees will stay on at the store. The deal is expected to close at the end of this month.
