Three North East companies on list of country's fastest growing tech firms 10:35, 9 Sep 2016 ImpulsePay, Performance Horizon and Salecycle make it onto the Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 Shares Get business news by email The offices of Performance Horizon in Newcastle Three companies from the North East have made it onto a list of the country’s fastest-growing tech firms. Newcastle’s ImpulsePay and Performance Horizon, plus Salecycle in Houghton le Spring, have been included in the annual Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 league table, which ranks the UK’s private technology, media and telecoms companies with the fastest-growing sales. ImpulsePay, which provides technology for Virgin Trains to charge customers for wi-fi, is ranked 12th on the list with sales of £12.4m and annual sales growth over the last thee years of 148%. Performance Horizon, a marketing software developer and Salecycle, which helps major retailers convert web visitors into customers, are both new entries into the table, coming in at 37th and 38th with 90% growth. Steve Langan, CEO of Hiscox Insurance Company, said: “The Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 never fails to impress and this year is no different. “We are proud to be associated with it, not least as we support more than 40,000 technology companies across the UK and Ireland and see first-hand their tenacity and infectious ambition. Congratulations to all of the northeast companies listed this year – the growth and innovation they demonstrate is highly commendable.” Nearly a third of the companies on the league table were founded by serial entrepreneurs, who have started at least one other business, including Performance Horizon.
