Jonathon Mickelson, 27, of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, was charged with 25 sexual crimes including unlawful sexual penetration, 2nd-degree rape, luring a minor and online sexual corruption of a child. He initially met the victim in an internet gaming chat room about two years ago, and investigators said he's had regular internet contact with her since. The victim, now 13 years old, met with Mickelson several times since he flew into Eugene on Sunday, October 19 and rented a hotel in Lebanon, Detective Justin McCubbins said. The victim's parents found out about the abuse on Tuesday, October 28 when she left to go to her grandparent's house. The girl hadn't arrived after four hours, and police officials said her concerned parents reported her missing. She came home a short time later and "told her parents she had met with a man that came to visit her from Wisconsin," said Lebanon PD. According to a press release, the girl's father went to Mickelson's hotel and asked him to come to the police station. Mickelson agreed, and was interviewed by police. Through those interviews, interviews with the victim, and corroborating physical evidence, Mickelson was charged with 1 count of online sexual corruption of a child, 1 count of luring a minor, 10 counts of sex abuse I, 3 counts of rape II, 5 counts of sodomy II, 3 counts of unlawful sexual penetration, 1 count of contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor, and 1 count of sexual misconduct. He was booked into the Linn County Jail, with his arraignment still pending. The case was handed over to the Lebanon Detective Unit and more charges are expected, officials said.
