In his project Waha, he tells the story of Moroccan oases, two-thirds of which have disappeared in recent decades as a result of environmental changes that carry an economic cost for local people and endanger their livelihoods. Of the country’s 28 million inhabitants, more than five million are in exile. ‘I don’t ask myself what happened to make the country of my childhood what it is today, but how it affects our souls,’ says Ferrero.
