The UK Rail online travel agency TicketClever's parent company Global Travel Ventures sells its 20% stake to rail and bus operating giant Stagecoach to combine fares from various operators. Rail online travel agency TicketClever has picked up additional investment funds by way of selling a fifth of the company to the Stagecoach Group. The 20% sale of Global Travel Ventures, parent company of TicketClever, comes just five months after the OTA went live in the UK (TLabs here). Terms of the sale/investment have not been disclosed. The consumer-facing brand is hoping to make a mark in the competitive world of UK rail ticket selling by working out combinations of fares from the various operators that work the UK rail network – a normally complex task for the passenger given the multiple providers and tickets that are placed into the distribution chain.

They also sent first- and second-round draft picks to Vegas to unload David Clarkson's contract and hold on to forward Josh Anderson and goaltender Joonas Korpisalo. NHL teams face another expansion draft in 2021, when Seattle enters the league. And the Seattle GM, whoever that turns out to be, probably won't receive the same kind of windfall George McPhee picked up in 2017 to help the Golden Knights make a run all the way to the Stanley Cup Final because some important lessons have been learned. "We might get to a situation where we're like, 'Boy I don't want to lose any of these guys,' so a team may have to do it again," Dallas Stars GM Jim Nill said. "But we've lived it now and I think we'll have a better understanding of it. And if you're going to (make a trade), you're going to make sure it's for the right person. You're going to be like: 'I'm giving up a lot of assets here. Is this the right thing to do?'" McPhee held all the leverage that summer, and he stockpiled talent as a result. Because only seven forwards, three defensemen and a goaltender (or seven skaters at any position and a goaltender) could be protected, a lot of deep teams were stuck with core players unprotected and willing to do almost anything to keep them. Just some of the "fear factor" moves: The Wild traded prospect Alex Tuch and let center Erik Haula go to Vegas to keep Matt Dumba. The Panthers traded Reilly Smith and lost Jonathan Marchessault. The Islanders traded a first-round pick to get rid of Mikhail Grabovski's contract. The Ducks traded Shea Theodore to clear Clayton Stoner's salary and keep Sami Vatanen and Josh Manson. The Penguins even sent a future second-round pick to ensure Vegas would take goalie Marc-Andre Fleury. Chuck Fletcher, who was Minnesota's GM, figured out the hard way that expansion means every team loses something. Now with Philadelphia, his approach will likely be to lose as little as possible to Seattle. "No matter what you do you're going to lose a good player," Fletcher said. "You either let them make the choice for you or you try to help them out by making sure you're keeping the things you want to keep. It was a great process to go through and I'm sure there were some lessons learned, but at the end of the day, if you have too many players than you can't protect, you've got to pick your poison." A popular choice last time? Teams giving up players to clear salary-cap space. That was the impetus for the Fleury move and others, but so much time to prepare could reduce the need for those trades in the summer of 2021. "That's just one thing that I see could happen, that if the teams aren't financially strapped against the cap then they don't have to make those sacrifices of young players to get the cap relief," Vancouver Canucks GM Jim Benning said. With two full offseasons until Seattle can plunder 30 NHL teams (Vegas will not participate), a lot of GMs are already planning ahead. Offices in Columbus and Dallas have already been the scene of some long-range preparation while acknowledging a lot can change between now and then. Nill said teams will likely need to decide whether someone is a "core player" or someone who isn't going to be around in the future. All GMs will need to grapple with the impact of no-movement clauses in player contracts that the NHL decreed must be protected in any expansion draft. Ottawa lost defenseman Marc Methot, in part, because Dion Phaneuf wouldn't waive his no-movement clause. Now that GMs know the rules, deals through 2021 could be affected. "You're reluctant to give no-move clauses at any time, but certainly with knowing what your expansion protected list is going to be, I think that will make teams a little more cautious," Penguins GM Jim Rutherford said. According to PuckPedia , there are already 36 players with no-movement clauses for 2021-22. The Penguins, Stars and Blackhawks lead the league with four players each. Don't be surprised if GMs attempt to change some of those situations to put themselves in a better spot. "You don't want to fill your protection list with guys that you have to protect because of the clauses in their contract," Kekalainen said. "You want to fill it with the guys you want to protect, so you want to leave that option to yourself." DE-IMPROVED PENGUINS
After sitting in last place in the Eastern Conference on Nov. 20, Pittsburgh is 6-2-2 in its past 10 games to surge up the standings. Backup goaltender Casey DeSmith, who has stepped up for injured starter Matt Murray, is a big part of that with his 2.10 goals-against average and .927 save percentage over that time. "I'm not surprised," Rutherford said. "Casey took the long road to the National Hockey League. He worked at it. He's worked very close with Mike Buckley, our goalie coach, and he's a goalie that really worked on his fundamentals. He's not the biggest goalie in the league, but fundamentally he's very sound and very focused." GAME OF THE WEEK

Sorry, Seattle: NHL GMs learned from Vegas expansion draft

Hindsight is 20/20, and we often walk away from speeches or presentations thinking about what we could do differently. While you can’t turn back the clock, there is another way to benefit from this reflection: watching recordings of your speeches. Whenever possible, make sure you record your speeches or presentations. You can enhance your public speaking skills drastically by watching your recording and identifying ways to improve in areas that went poorly. What to Watch For
While watching yourself, it can be hard to get over the initial awkwardness of seeing yourself on screen. It can benefit your analysis to focus on a few specific areas. If the video is relatively short, you can also watch it multiple times, focusing on a different area of improvement each time. Note any awkward verbal stalls, like “um” and “like.” Notice your body language — were you swaying, leaning against the podium, or inclining more on a leg? Were you making eye contact with the listeners? Were you smiling? Were you speaking clearly all the way through? Focus on your gestures. Did they seem natural or constrained? Ensure that individuals can notice them, particularly if you’re behind the podium. Finally, take note of how you took care of interferences, for example, a sniffle or an inquiry that you weren’t set up for. Did you respond with annoyance, surprise, or pause? Assuming this is the case, work on managing interferences like these with a smooth response, so that you are even better the next time. If all went well, you can use these footages for your demo videos as well as a marketing campaign to promote yourself as a public speaker! How to Record
To learn from your recorded speeches and presentations, you need to first make sure you have a copy of the recording. Make sure you confirm whether the speech will be recorded ahead of time, so you are not disappointed. Videographers will often give you a copied DVD of speech. However, this format is simply not good for editing because the original recording is compressed in the process of formatting the DVD. This decreases the size of the file to fit on a formatted DVD so you can send it faster and easier to someone. However, if you are interested in using part of the speech in a demo reel or social media post, it is something to be taken into consideration. What are the alternatives? All things considered, request your videographer to get the raw footage and just drag and drop the files into an external hard disk or thumb drive. Make sure the files are not compressed. This way, your speech video quality will be far better than a compressed and formatted DVD or DropBox upload. PowerPoint slides are another issue. Most people complain about slides that occur sporadically all through the footage. They have probably been edited into the speech video after recording or filming your speech. It can be difficult to edit your targeted message or content around the slides. It’s best to add slides in later — another reason high-quality, non-compressed raw footage files are important. Help others help you. Always carry two or three 64 GB thumb drives with you so the producers and videographer will be able to format the files to the preferred format for MAC or PC. And always communicate that you are willing to come pick up the thumb drives or pay for them to be mailed. It is well worth your time and effort. It may seem a bit strange to watch and re-watch your own speech and presentation footage, but it’s a well-known way to learn and improve. Dancers, athletes, and other performers review footage all the time. From making sure you get the right footage to knowing what to look for on the tape, reviewing recordings of your speeches is an important way to grow as a public speaker. Olga V. Watch And Learn: Why (And How) You Should Record Your Speeches And Presentations

Justin Timberlake wrote    candidly about his relationship with Jessica Biel , who he’s been married    to since 2012, in his book “Hindsight: And All the Things I    Can’t See in Front of Me.”
The singer explained that they first met at a party, reunited  at one of his concerts in January 2007, and exchanged numbers. They started dating after talking for a few weeks, but agreed  to not be exclusive. “We were both still seeing other people, keeping ourselves  safe from getting hurt, from really putting ourselves out there,”  Timberlake explained. “It took a bit for both of us to admit to  ourselves that we were really, really that into each other.”
Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake are one of  Hollywood’s power couples . But at the  start of their relationship, they agreed to see other people to  avoid “getting hurt.”
In a new book titled “Hindsight: And All the Things I Can’t See  in Front of Me,” Timberlake said that they began dating around  the time of the 2007 Golden Globes, but they weren’t exclusive. “We were both still seeing other people, keeping ourselves safe  from getting hurt, from really putting ourselves out there,” he  wrote. “It took a bit for both of us to admit to ourselves that  we were really, really that into each other.”
Timberlake and Biel first met at a Hollywood surprise party. They  started talking later that evening, after Biel was the only  person who laughed at a “dry” and “sarcastic comment” that he  made. The pair reunited during the first show of Timberlake’s “Future  Sex/Love Sounds” tour, which kicked off in San Diego, California  on January 8, 2007. Once the “Mirrors” singer got Biel’s number,  they talked on the phone for two weeks as he continued his tour. In his book, Timberlake explained that once he returned from  performing around the world, the couple spent a month together. “After that, I said, ‘I really want to be exclusive.’ And,  somehow, she said, ‘So do I,'” Timberlake said. The pair continued stepping out together, but broke up in 2011 . They remained friends following the  split, and got back together shortly after. In December 2011,  Timberlake proposed to Biel and they got married the following  year. Now, the couple has a son named Silas ( born in 2015 ), who inspired  Timberlake to write his chart-topping “Trolls” song “Can’t Stop  the Feeling.” On his most recent album, “Man of the Woods,” the  37-year-old also included Biel’s voice in an interlude titled  “Hers,” because he considers her “a narrator, or a voice of  consciousness.”
