Two adviser groups merge

Feb 12, 2020

| Insurance Business The AMP Financial Planners Association (ampfpa) and the Hillross Advisers Association (HAA) have decided to form a united body, The Advisers Association, to represent advisers of both licensees. The development comes after members of the two organisations okayed the move at the annual general meetings held in Melbourne last week. Neil Macdonald, who was CEO of both ampfpa and HAA, will remain as CEO of the merged association. Macdonald said the new association will continue a more than 95-year-old history of representing members and supporting them as they help clients get better outcomes. It will also give their members one voice in these challenging times. “The merged association will allow for a more uniform message to be delivered in ongoing negotiations with AMP and when communicating with the broader financial community, the media, and the government,” Macdonald said.
