The character March 7th is speculated to get a five-star variant in the future, potentially due to her Companion Mission and suppressed memories. Honkai: Star Rail players recently discussed which character deserved to get a five-star variant, and the majority of them voted for one specific character. The game hasn't introduced a five-star variant since Dan Heng's Imbibitor Lunae in Version 1.3. Just like fellow HoYoverse title Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail's main protagonist has multiple variants based on the game's Paths and Elements. Currently, the Trailblazer can switch between a Physical-type Destruction DPS character and a Fire-type Preservation support character. Apart from the Trailblazer, Dan Heng also received the five-star treatment with the release of Imbibitor Lunae. It's possible that HoYoverse might be cooking up five-star variants for other four-star characters in Honkai: Star Rail in the future. In a discussion thread made by Reddit user DannieHALO, the majority of fans named March 7th as the character they hoped would get a five-star variant in the future. Some believed it was only a matter of time after she got a new skin, even though it only made a brief appearance in the game. Other Honkai: Star Rail players also pointed to March 7th's Companion Mission as the source of her future variant. The mission delved a little bit into March's mysterious lore, and how her memories were being suppressed by the Garden of Recollection, a faction that worships the Aeon Fuli. The players believed that once March regained all of her memories, she would become more powerful. Apart from March 7th, fans also named four-star characters such as Herta, Sampo, and Tingyun as possible candidates for a five-star variant. Herta was considered because she's an Emanator of Nous the Erudition, so she could become a powerful five-star alongside her fellow Genius Society colleague Ruan Mei . Sampo, on the other hand, was revealed to be a member of the Masked Fools, so players believed that he could get an alternate variant as well. As for Tingyun, some players joked it would be fun to see a "zombie" version, since it's still unknown whether she's actually dead. Honkai: Star Rail hasn't confirmed any future five-star variants so far. However, it does make sense for March 7th to get one down the line because it would mean advancing her lore further. It would be similar to how Dan Heng uncovered his identity as Imbibitor Lunae at the Xianzhou Luofu. The only question now would be when HoYoverse would pull the trigger on March 7th's full backstory.
