Hawksmoor acquires wealth firm Gore Browne - Citywire

Jun 14, 2022

Hawksmoor acquires wealth firm Gore Browne The purchase extends Hawksmoor’s regional footprint to Salisbury and Harrogate and lifts its assets under management above £3bn. Hawksmoor Investment Management has struck a deal to buy Gore Browne Investment Management (GBIM). Carlyle subsidiary Hurst Point Group, which purchased Hawksmoor in January 2021 , will acquire 100% of GBIM, subject to FCA regulatory approval. The price of the deal was not disclosed. The deal sees Hawksmoor’s regional footprint increase through GBIM’s offices in Salisbury and Harrogate. The two offices manage around £520m in assets and will lift the firm’s total assets under management to £3.2bn. Hawksmoor CEO Sarah Soar (pictured below) said: ‘Combining [GBIM’s] knowledge and expertise with the Hawksmoor team will allow us to expand our offering across the South and the North East as we welcome the team across two new offices and continue to grow the business.’ GBIM’s offices will keep the Gore Browne name and will continue to use Pershing as its custodian. GBIM CEO Mark Arkwright said: ‘For some time the Gore Browne board and shareholders have been seeking a partner in the private client sector to invest in our business. ‘We have known and respected their team for many years and feel confident that together we will continue to deliver an exceptionally high quality, personal service to clients.’ Hurst Point was set up in 2019 by Carlyle to facilitate the firm’s push into the UK wealth management sector. GBIM joins Harwood Wealth Management, which was acquired in 2020, and Hawksmoor on the platform. To view this content, please Access to our unique fund manager database.
