Kirstine Stewart Joins Canada’s GoViral as the company’s first CSO

Sep 21, 2016

Jessica Vomiero September 20, 2016 7:22pm Former Twitter VP Kirstine Stewart made headlines just a few months back when she announced she was joining leaving Twitter to join theScore Media Ventures as a member of the advisory board. Stewart completed her transition recently when she revealed through a Medium post that she would join GoViral’s pop culture website Diply as its first Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). Stewart is best known for her former role as the vice president of media at Twitter . She was Twitter Canada’s first hire after the company opened an office in Toronto in 2013. Before that, she held a senior executive role with Canada’s CBC News. After she announced in June that she planned to depart from the social media company, she then revealed her intention to join theScore as a member of the board of advisors. A medium post on her account revealed recently that she was looking for opportunities that allowed her to build something transformative, and she seems to have found it with GoViral. “By joining Diply and the impressive team at GoViral as their first CSO — I’m signing up to do exactly that. I’m so very excited about the choice I’ve made — because I think it’s an opportunity, a role and a company that’s going to be more than ‘just right,'” she wrote. Diply currently attracts 34 million monthly users and was named the fastest growing website in internet history by the Digital Journal a few years back. In a press release issued by Diply, the company outlines Stewart’s newfound responsibilities will include leading expansion efforts with content creators and accelerate content and “video disruption” efforts. “We are thrilled to have Kristine onboard,” said Taylor Ablitt, Diply co-founder and CEO in a statement. “She is an experienced media leader with a track record of being a transformative player. Kirstine’s expertise will drive new growth, raise Diply’s profile, and help make us a household name.”
