MedleyMed introduces virtual clinic model Digital pharmacy platform Medley Medical Solutions (MedlyMed) has launched its virtual clinic concept in India, transforming local pharmacies into digital clinics that facilitate online doctor consultations. Called Ananda E-Clinic, this kiosk format in pharmacies allows patients to book appointments and conduct online doctor consultations via a digital platform. While the global pandemic has enabled the greater adoption of digital healthcare services, MedleyMed noticed that there are still people who enter nearby pharmacies to get medications recommended by pharmacists. The company warned that this practice can turn "dreadful" as pharmacists lack the knowledge that a registered doctor has. To address this concern, MedleyMed is building the Ananda E-Clinics ecosystem to make doctor consultations more accessible to patients. According to founder Satish Manchala, they aim to transform over 1,000 pharmacies across the country into virtual clinics in the next three years. More than 50 pharmacies in Hyderabad, Telangana have so far signed up to implement the Ananda E-Clinic concept. "It is also an opportunity for the local pharmacy store to transform into a virtual clinic with minimal investment and get benefitted from the incentives and increased customer base," Manchala added.
