Singapore online print start-up expands to Australia

May 1, 2019

Singapore online print start-up expands to Australia Hubertus Hellenthal, country manager of Zenprint.Supplied The largest online printing start-up in southeast Asia, Singapore-based Gogoprint, has launched its subsidiary brand Zenprint in Australia, with the headquarters in Melbourne looking after partnership and sales operations. A statement from the company said the Australian arm would focus on building a strong local foothold to better service the needs of the Australian SME ecosystem. Zenprint uses artificial intelligence to manage and pool together customer orders and evenly distribute print jobs through the network of local print partners, looking to print at a site as physically close to the customer as possible. Establishing a partner network across various metro areas means faster shipping times and reduced logistics costs. The statement said Zenprint also aimed to provide a variety of new website features including a feature to automatically check customers' artwork and correct the most common errors. “Given its developed and sizeable economy, its growing e-commerce industry, and the role that print marketing strategies play in the marketing mix, we expect Australia to become one of our largest markets,” said David Berghaeuser, co-founder and managing director of Gogoprint . “The market is characterised by very advanced product requirements and needs. Most companies want the best for their printing, and will not hesitate to spend a bit more on premium products. With our group’s strong focus on innovation, customer care and quality, we are confident of becoming a true household name for Australian SMEs.” Zenprint’s strategy in Australia is to be fully transparent on pricing and delivery dates and invest in developing a strong portfolio of promotional products, such as customisable pens, mugs and keychains, on its website to become a one-stop-shop for SMEs’ printing needs. “We view our collaboration with NGOs and community-focused organisations as vital building blocks to develop lasting relationships with businesses all over Australia,” said Hubertus Hellenthal, country manager of Zenprint. “The value of giving back to the community reflects our long-term commitment to customers and business partners alike. Our proprietary AI-powered solutions will sharpen the competitive edge of our partners while giving consumers a wider choice of high quality and locally made print products.” Since its launch in 2015, Gogoprint has set up shop in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, and worked with more than 45,000 customers, printing and shipping well over 250 million products. It aims to launch in New Zealand and Hong Kong in the second quarter of 2019.
