Photo courtesy of PC & Associates Consulting - + Supercell, a Finnish mobile games developer, has joined hands with Tencent (Thailand) in celebrating the fifth anniversary of its Clash Of Clans (COC) strategy game. The game was released on Aug 2, 2012, and for the first time, is now available in Thai. It was first released only for the iOS platform and a year later for Android. The aim is for COC to be the most-loved mobile game for Thai gamers, integrating online marketing via social media activities on both Facebook and YouTube. Jihong Lee, Global Expansion SEA of Supercell, said the game should eventually become the most popular worldwide mobile strategy fantasy-themed game. Clash Of Clans has operated for five years and in over 20 languages. "We have forged links with Thai gamers through the Facebook fanpage and the Thai version of the YouTube channel," Lee said. Photo courtesy of Tencent Thailand Thailand is the most important mobile gaming market in Southeast Asia, and one which Supercell is keen to exploit. "Our team at Supercell is compact and has great passion for perfection, therefore this localisation process took some time. Five years later, we have reached the point where we want to offer a great experience to all of you," Lee added. Krittee Manoleehagul, managing director of Tencent (Thailand), said the online game industry in Southeast Asia is among the fastest growing markets in the world. Citing research from the Global Mobile Game Confederation and Newzoo, Lee said mobile revenues are growing at an astonishing 45.3% a year in the region, well above three times the global average of 14.6%. Supercell is a mobile game developer based in Helsinki, Finland, with offices in major cities such as San Francisco, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai. Its games are available for tablets and phones using both Apple's iOS and Google's Android operating systems. Since its founding in 2010, Supercell has brought four games to market -- Hay Day, Clash Of Clans, Boom Beach and Clash Royale. RECOMMENDED STORIES
