Pop Future Will Offer Faster And More Approachable Methods For Brand Strategy

Scott Steinberg Social media has become a powerful tool for brands to reach the masses, but one issue is how to avoid getting lost in the noise. Even the most popular and successful influencers and biggest brands can all too easily be overwhelmed and fail to keep the audience engaged. This is where social media pundit and brand marketing expert Scott Steinberg hopes to help break through with the launch of Pop Future , a new training and development tool that can aid business thinkers in getting the most out of emerging trends, including those on the social platforms. "In the wake of Covid-19 and growing digital transformation, attention spans are also shorter than ever − and it's become patently clear that working professionals need a way to make sense of emerging trends and technologies more rapidly and effectively," Steinberg explained. "Noting this – plus the fact that more items are competing for our attention than ever – it's clear that a new methodology for exploring and considering the impact of future trends is called for." A Pop Culture Future? Steinberg explained that the changing dialog for our devices needs to be considered. While no one ever talked about the paper that the news was printed on, the same doesn't hold true in the digital age. "New technologies, gadgets, and innovations are every bit as much a topic of public fascination and conversation now as movies, TV, video games, and music," added Steinberg. "As futurist thinking continues to become more approachable and appealing to everyday audiences, so too should the learning and communications tools that we use to help put future-focused topics in context." MORE FOR YOU The training is meant to help brands better retain that user engagement. "It means using simpler methods to discuss, identify, and make sense of new and emerging technologies and trends — and, in similar fashion to musicians, movie stars, and online influencers, finding more fast, fun, and engaging ways to communicate complex concepts in seconds," Steinberg continued. "Pop Future challenges us to consider: In the same way that songwriters, movie directors, and online influencers use fun and catchy references or unique art pieces and audiovisual gags to make complex or esoteric topics seem more engaging and familiar - how can we use creativity, wit, and insight as a similar way to grab audiences' attention and make business and technology trends more comprehensible and approachable." What this means is that instead of 100-page market research reports, brands can employ techniques to make the data more accessible – whether it is employees or consumers. The goal is to serve up information that's generally presented in a dry and dull manner in more entertaining and easily-understandable ways. Pop Future will further expand over the next year with creative social media-friendly projects to help boost future literacy, and help raise awareness for emerging technologies, trends, and business topics. This could include the use of NFTs, the metaverse, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, machine learning and a plethora of other buzz-friendly trends. "If it's a hot topic, you can bet we’ll have a fun and engaging educational effort planned around it," said Steinberg. "Creations could take the form of everything from free eBooks, worksheets, and training guides designed to help get you and your business up to speed on the latest trending topics to video programs and tongue-in-cheek parodies designed to help you learn what's coming next in the world of business or innovation in 90 seconds flat."
