ForceX, which will now be called L-3 ForceX, develops mapping and video software for navigation, surveillance, tracking, command and control and situational awareness for global commercial customers, the Department of Defense and other federal agencies. It will be incorporated into L-3's Integrated Sensor Systems sector. L-3 Communications Holdings supplies various high-tech communications and intelligence… more L-3 Communications “ForceX complements L-3’s core business, enhancing our product and system capabilities to compete in new markets, and expands our customer base,” L-3 Chairman, President and CEO Micheal Strianese said in the release. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. New York City-based L-3, which has its headquarters on Third Avenue in Murray Hill, employs about 45,000 people worldwide, according to the news release.
