BPEC beneficiaries celebrate awards successes

Nov 30, 2020

(BPEC) have been recognised at two prestigious awards ceremonies. Neciah and Josephine Dorh of Fluoretiq won the innovation award at this year’s South West 42 under 42 awards, while Dr. Stephanie Campbell of Okko Health won the social impact award. Fluoretiq is developing technology to quickly identify harmful bacteria in hospitals, clinics and care homes while Okko is developing smartphone software for the home-monitoring of eye health. The 42 Under 42 awards are organised by South West Business Insider and highlight the achievements of young entrepreneurs in the region. Meanwhile subsea technology business Rovco has scooped three awards at the Tech South West Awards. Rovco, which is developing technologies for use in the offshore renewable industry and oilfield decommissioning, was named tech company of the year (revenue over £5m) at the Tech South West awards. The business also won the innovation award while founder and CEO Brian Allen was named tech entrepreneur of the year. Jerry Barnes, founding director of Bristol Private Equity Club, said: “Congratulations to all three businesses on these richly deserved awards. It is always pleasing when the wider business community honours ventures to whom we’ve given financial backing after having recognised their huge potential.” News & Press Archive
