Blandt investorerne er amerikanske Sequoia Capital og britiske Balderton Capital, og samlet set har platformen, der skal at give overblik over organisationen i alle virksomheder, så brugere kan identificere de mest centrale personer i en given virksomhed, landet 11 mio. dollar fra investorer. Den ene af selskabets to stiftere, Christian Wylonis, beskriver The.Org som et socialt dataprodukt, der er en hybrid mellem Bloomberg og Linkedin. "Nu handler det om for os, at vi skal betragtes som standarden for organisationsdiagrammer. Det er The Org, som man går til, hvis man vil vide noget om en specifik virksomhed på samme måde, som jeg i dag går på Linkedin, hvis jeg vil vide noget om en person," siger Christian Wylonis til Børsen.
