About Financing For Science Int
Lessor of technologically advanced equipment to healthcare providers and research facilities. The sophisticated equipment generally ranges from $100,000 to $2,000,000 in cost. At September 30, 1993, computer equipment accounted for only 4% of the company's lease portfolio; no mainframe computers were in its portfolio. Medical equipment, primarily diagnostic imaging systems, accounted for 58% of the aggregate lease portfolio, as measured by net investment leases. The leases have an average term of 54 months and are predominantly full payout leases allowing recovery of substantially all the equipment and related financing costs during the initial noncancellable lease term while retaining title to the equipment. The leases require the lessees to maintain and insure the equipment and to pay property, sales, and similar taxes.
