ArbiterSports Announces Support for Multiple Languages on its FamilyID Online Registration Platform

Jun 17, 2020

Multi-language registration tools advance equity initiatives for schools while maintaining critical data privacy June 17, 2020 11:50 AM Eastern Daylight Time SANDY, Utah--( BUSINESS WIRE )--ArbiterSports, the only true 360-degree Program & Events Platform for K-12 schools, today announced the immediate availability of multi-language program and activity registration, powered by FamilyID online registration. School districts can now provide families with the convenience of online registration in six languages in addition to English, including Chinese, Italian, Portuguese, Somali, Spanish, and Vietnamese, with more languages planned. All standard content on the online registration platform is pre-translated into the languages offered. Schools have the ability to translate their own custom content with the assistance of translation tools provided by FamilyID. Schools can review, edit and approve translated content before it is published and displayed to families. This allows schools to ensure the translations they are publishing accurately reflect the intended meaning of their original content, which is particularly critical for legal agreements, policies, and sensitive health questions. When families register students for programs or activities, they may select from the available languages to navigate the entire registration process in their language of choice. FamilyID’s unique approach of enabling schools to provide pre-translated content to families also protects data privacy. This is in stark contrast to other online registration solutions that allow parents to enable translation directly on a registration form via tools like Google Translate. Executing the translation on the page where sensitive PII (personally identifiable information) and PHI (personal health information) is entered can violate critical state and school student data privacy agreements because all content on the page may then become subject to the translating company’s terms and policies. “In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and nationwide school closures, we are thrilled to offer school districts a way to support remote program registration and equity, and protect data privacy for families who may be more vulnerable from disparities in access,” said ArbiterSports CEO, Kyle Ford. “We are enabling six languages today with many more to follow. We will continue to develop solutions that uphold our commitment to meeting the needs of all families as well as district and program administrators.” About ArbiterSports ArbiterSports acquired FamilyID, the market leader in online registration for schools and community programs, in February 2020. The acquisition extended Arbiter’s offering and reach, creating a best-in-class solution for school districts nationwide to simplify registration, scheduling and payments for all school programs, activities and events. ArbiterSports powered by FamilyID is now the only true 360-degree Programs & Events Platform to connect people with programs, activities and events. The platform delivers control and visibility from registration to scheduling to official assigning and payment. The Arbiter platform is built on a paperless cloud-based system that allows secure access from anywhere and provides seamless integration and add-on features. School districts, community organizations, sports associations, commissioners, assigners, and game officials rely on ArbiterSports to do their jobs effectively.
