Jim cofounded Silversmith Capital Partners in 2015. At Silversmith, he focuses on investments across the firm’s two core verticals: SaaS and information services, and healthcare IT and services.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Absorb Software, Centauri Health Solutions, Impact, Market Access Transformation (MAT), Net Health, PDFTron Systems, RedAwning Group, and Validity. Throughout his career, Jim has served as a board director of more than 20 companies.
Michael is a General Partner with Village Ventures, operating as a Venture Partner to manage the Inflexion Fund. He is an experienced venture investor and entrepreneur.</br></br>
Michael joins Inflexion from Bessemer Venture Partners, where he was a partner from 1994-1998. Michael also served as president and chief executive officer of MotherNature.com from 1998 through 2000, and was instrumental in raising $113 million in funding for the company in three rounds of financing and an initial public offering. </br></br>Michael holds a B.A. from Amherst College, where he graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He received his juris doctorate from Harvard Law School and a MBA from Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar.</br></br>Michael is based in Massachusetts and is responsible for the firmÃ¯Â¿Â½s investments in New England, Upstate New York, and Florida.

At Mothernature, Michael raised $113 million through three private rounds and an IPO in December 1999. He recruited and built the entire senior team, and grew the company from eight employees to a peak of 225. Mothernature.com won numerous customer and industry awards, including a spring 2000 Gomez Award as the leading e-commerce health site on the Internet. From 1990 to 1998, Michael was employed by Bessemer Venture Partners, where he specialized in the telecommunications,retail, and electronic commerce categories. Michael was a Partner at Bessemer from 1994 until 1998. Prior to 1990, Michael held several executive management positions in various retail organizations. Michael holds a B.A. from Amherst College, and both a J.D. and M.B.A. from Harvard.
