COMPANY NEWS;BOSTON SCIENTIFIC TO ACQUIRE EP TECHNOLOGIES Reuters Published: October 10, 1995 The Boston Scientific Corporation said yesterday it was acquiring EP Technologies Inc. in a tax-free stock transaction valued at about $150 million. The deal marks the third time in as many months that Boston Scientific, which is based in Natick, Mass., has acquired another maker of medical instruments or therapeutic equipment. EP Technologies, of Sunnyvale, Calif., makes advanced catheters and systems for use in minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat abnormally rapid heart rates, known as tachyarrhythmia. Boston Scientific shares slid $1.125, to $40.625, on the New York Stock Exchange yesterday. Shares of EP Technologies were off 25 cents at $12.50 in Nasdaq trading, following a drop of $3.75 on Friday after the company confirmed that it was in merger talks.
