According to recent data , that number is set to reach 40 million workers by 2030. Boston-based Ekotrope is one of the most recent large contributors to the growing green-collar workforce. Its team has grown by 35 percent as of Q1 and by the end of the year, the company expects to grow an additional 30 percent. The hiring spree comes after a successful 2021 for Ekotrope. Last year the energy-efficient construction software startup grew its workforce by 75 percent and experienced 70 percent year-over-year growth with zero outside funding, according to a company statement. In fact, according to Crunchbase data , Ekotrope hasn’t publicly raised a venture capital round since 2014, meaning its latest hiring sprees are seemingly self-funded.
