Earth911 Launches Enhanced Directory and App Designed to Enable Millions of Americans to Responsibly Recycle

Jun 22, 2016

THE COLONY, TX--(Marketwired - June 22, 2016) - Quest Resource Holding Corporation ( NASDAQ : QRHC ) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, , launched an enhanced recycling directory and a redesigned iRecycle App to make it easier for consumers to recycle materials. The recycling directory, found at , is believed to be one of the largest in North America. Do a Google search for "recycling" plus almost any other term -- aluminum cans, tires, metal, etc. -- and Earth911's recycling directory generally is among the first results. Now, it has been redesigned to be even more intuitive to search, with an improved user interface and a better back-end experience for recycling location owners. Sponsored by the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) , a trade association representing scrap commodities companies, the redesigned also offers greater opportunities for partner advertising and outreach. "Each year, the scrap recycling industry processes more than 135 metric tons of materials, helping to reduce CO2 emissions by about 500 million tons," said Bob Ensinger, Vice President of Communications and Marketing for ISRI. "We are proud to be partnering with Earth911 who is helping people find end-of-life solutions for almost every household product. Through the use of the resources Earth911 provides, everyone has the ability to be a responsible environmental steward. " "Thanks to longtime partners like ISRI, we're able to bring consumers what we believe is the most comprehensive recycling search in the United States free of charge," said Ray Hatch, Quest's Chief Executive Officer. "In our view, everyone wins, from the recycling search users that hope to dispose of their products responsibly, to the facility owners that want more materials to recycle, to the sponsors that hope to create more awareness for their recycling programs and solutions to, of course, the environment. " The recycling directory can be searched by material -- there are more than 360 featured -- as well as by ZIP code. There are over 122,000 listings included. The relaunched app, iRecycle , builds on the recycling directory by bringing its database to mobile phones. Available for free on iOS and Android, iRecycle is intended to make it easy to find nearby facilities that accept a certain material, whether it's an everyday household item, such as a plastic bottle or something less common, such as ceiling tiles. Within the app, the user can visit the website or call the facilities listed to get more information. There's also an articles section with green living questions answered. To search the recycling directory, visit . More about the app can be found at .
