Elasticity acquires digital development firm

Jun 18, 2014

Jun 18, 2014, 6:14am CDT Elasticity acquires digital development firm Email  |  Twitter  |  Facebook Elasticity, a digital marketing agency that was just named one of St. Louis’ fastest growing companies by the St. Louis Business Journal, has acquired Digital Mothership, a software engineering and digital development firm. Terms of the deal were not made public. St. Louis-based Digital Mothership, which will operate as a subsidiary of Elasticity, is led by Derek Stagner , a 20-year veteran in the ad industry who has previously worked at Modustri and Agent X, two digital development firms. Elasticity Founding Partner Brian Cross said digital development had become the fastest growing revenue bucket for Elasticity over the last 18 months. The Digital Mothership acquisition, he said, would help further fuel growth in that segment. “We’ve continued to see demand for development work rise dramatically, and Digital Mothership’s expertise in engineering innovative Web platforms and mobile applications will greatly strengthen our client offerings and integrate well into the programs we execute on behalf of our clients,” Cross said. Elasticity reported more than $2 million in revenue in 2013 and has approximately 30 employees between its downtown St. Louis headquarters and a another office in Chicago. The deal is the company’s first acquisition to date. The company has clients that include Charter Communications , H&R Block and Soft Surroundings among others. The acquisition follows news earlier this month that Infuz, another St. Louis digital marketing agency, would be acquired by St. Louis-based Web consulting firm Integrity. Cross said the ad agency industry continues to consolidates as traditional players exit an market that has changed drastically over the last several years as social media and search engines have made lasting impacts on how ad work is done.
