Bentley Motors is excited to announce a three-year sponsorship of Dezeen Awards, the leading global awards programme for architecture, interiors and design. Bentley will work alongside Dezeen to inspire, support and champion design excellence in the pursuit of sustainable solutions. Now in its sixth year, Dezeen Awards is one of the most-entered awards programmes in its sector internationally, attracting more than 5,000 entries from 90 countries in 2022. Participants can enter 39 categories across architecture, interiors, design and sustainability. The awards align with Bentleys passion for design and innovation, expressed in its luxury cars but also through its Bentley Home and Bentley Residences creations, which are expanding globally. Sustainability is a core focus for Dezeen Awards 2023, and all entrants will be asked to provide information about the impact of their project on the environment. Dezeen Awards has also increased the number of awards within its sustainability category from three to six awards to include new awards for material innovation, sustainable renovation and sustainable building products. Six nomination-only Designers of the Year awards are also new for 2023. These will celebrate the leading emerging and established names across architecture, interiors and design. Also launching in 2023 is The Bentley Lighthouse Award. This new award recognises an individual or organisation whose work must have made an overwhelmingly positive impact within social and environmental sustainability, inclusivity and/or community empowerment such as game changing innovation or an initiative that has demonstrably reduced impact on the planet. Dezeen Awards is judged by the biggest names in the business, with former judges including architect Lord Norman Foster, designer Thomas Heatherwick and artist and stage designer Es Devlin. Bentleys Design Director Tobias Sühlmann will join this years judging panel. Sühlmanns more than twenty years of experience working in luxury automotive design will be instrumental in enabling Bentley Motors to achieve its future ambitions as the leader in sustainable luxury mobility. All entries to Dezeen Awards will be judged against three core criteria: is the entry beautiful, innovative and beneficial. Nissan and New Balance have teamed up to produce the Kicks 327 – a car that mimics a trainer. The partnership is a play on the car’s name and was created to advertise Nissan’s electric Kicks SUV. The automobile has the suede upper from the 327, as well as everything from the original sneaker’s textile stitching to its white laces, and is finished with a placed wrap. “The 327 has a stylish SUV-like appearance and is light and sticks to the ground,” the brand told Dezeen . “We thought it would match the concept of the Nissan Kicks e-Power 4WD, which allows you to enjoy driving in any situation, whether on the street or off-road.”
Nissan won’t be officially selling the vehicle, but The Kicks 327 is on display and being driven around Tokyo throughout this month. Read more and see more photos on Dezeen .

The economy still has a few years to adjust, but that process must start immediately – said Mihailo Vesović, director of the Internationalization Sector of the Polish Chamber of Commerce, at the opening of the conference. He pointed out that domestic companies must adapt their business models, as this will be required by their partners in the EU, whether they are executors or are involved in the supply chains of foreign partners. Banks will change their risk analysis methodologies due to ESG standards, EU taxonomy and different business models of companies, as well as due to changed regulations, the portal eKapija reports. Filip Abramović, assistant minister in the Ministry of Environmental Protection, pointed out that the Green Agenda and the circular economy are being implemented it is important to recognize the role and importance of asphalt recycling, as well as that in the coming period this ministry will work on the adoption of by-laws in this area. – The Environmental Protection Agency in cooperation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce organizes every year training for companies on methods of waste removal because the economy must improve business practices in this area – said Tamara Paunović, assistant director of the Environmental Protection Agency. – Now that Serbia is working on the Environmental Protection Strategy we have a great chance to green our economyto carry out a fair and smart green transition that attracts investments, new technologies, knowledge and good practices and gives a chance for our GDP to grow by 1% only on savings, on resource and energy efficiency, assesses Siniša Mitrović, head of the Center for Circular Economy PKS. – Together with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, we are preparing the Regulation on the use of scraped asphalt in road infrastructure. The most important thing is that they will adoption of the Regulation to raise the investment potential of close to EUR 100 million of investments in road companies so that we can raise the market of secondary materials. We will save our quarries, our gravel from the rivers, and through the circular economy we will reuse the material resulting from construction and demolition – adds Mitrović. – The principles of circular economy in road infrastructure are shown through multiple use of building materials that are produced according to the principles of ecological neutrality and sustainabilityreduce the use of raw materials, they produce less waste and CO2 with an integral approach to the Smart Mobility and circular economy model. We, as a Srbijaput company, see a great opportunity for green works, investments, for the engagement of local potential in the economy, especially when it comes to the construction of road infrastructure in rural areas. With this process, we are raising the investment market, introducing new technologies and smart solutions that save resources and are good for responding to climate change – said Petar Živojinović, director of Srbijaput. SAN FRANCISCO: Cruiser bikes giant Harley-Davidson is transitioning to become an all-electric brand in a process that will take decades, says its CEO Jochen Zeitz. “At some point in time, Harley Davidson will be all-electric. “But that’s a long-term transition that needs to happen. It’s not something you do overnight,” Zeitz was quoted as saying. According to Zeitz, electrification is the next logical step in the evolution of the brand that was founded 120 years ago, reports Dezeen. “If you look at the past 120 years, the company has always evolved, never stood still. Now, like the founders did at the time by trying to reinvent or invent something unique, that’s obviously something that we as a company brand need to do as well,” he said. “What we’re doing is celebrating our past but also evolving the brand at the same time. It’s a natural evolution that needed to happen,” he added. Even though Harley-Davidson has begun producing electric motorcycles, Zeitz does not believe it will abandon petrol in the near future, the report mentioned. The company launched its first electric motorcycle in 2018, named LiveWire. Moreover, Harley-Davidson unveiled its first-ever electric bicycle inspired by the brand’s first motorcycle from 1903 in 2020. The waste products are integrated into the mycelium as it grows over a six-week period. “The growing environments are basically containers where I introduce nutrients and mycelium to the garments at a specific dampness, darkness and temperature,” Elston tells design publication Dezeen. “It’s a speculative and cyclical design process, but still very plausible,” she adds. Elston is also working on a way to use mycelium as a sewing material connecting patches of fabric. “There is so much unknown about mycelium, but we do know that it is an intelligent living system that interconnects many parts of ecology,” she says. “I work with mycelium because it is the future of materials. I find it fascinating that we are just discovering its capabilities—there is so much more to explore.”
