Capital Business By NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 22 – Facebook has partnered with Creatives Garage to launch a campaign dubbed #RealpeopleRealstories, aimed at showcasing how ordinary Kenyans are using creativity and innovation to inspire the community. Facebook’s Communications Manager for Eastern Africa Janet Kemboi says the initiative is the company’s way of encouraging people to find solutions for everyday challenges. The initiative features 10 short documentaries by 10 different people and are showcased on Facebook. COURTESY “We identified 10 people from around the country who are in the creatives industry doing different things. Each week, we debut their stories on the Facebook Africa and Creatives Garage pages. In the 5 minutes documentaries, each of these creatives gets to talk about themselves and what they are doing in their communities,” Janet said. Those who have been selected include Boguk Fashion, a Kibera based fashion brand that is seeking to bridge the gap between high fashion and mainstream streetwear, and Aldo Olunya, an advocate of mental health in Kenya.
