CWSI signs mobile security deal with Three UK

May 25, 2022

Irish mobile and cloud security provider CWSI has signed a multi-million-pound deal with Three UK to support its mobile security solution, Three Mobile Project, after launching the same product for Three Ireland in 2020. Three Mobile Protect is aimed at businesses, available to implement on both iOS and Android devices and powered with mobile endpoint security software from Corrata . CWSI implements and supports the service, which safeguards businesses against mobile phone threats such as scams, malware and data loss by blocking access to phishing sites, malware download servers, and unapproved content or services. Three Mobile Protect, which operates locally on the device, also helps organisations to control costs by monitoring the apps, data usage and roaming permitted on business phones, but company data is not sent to the cloud for inspection, which is a major privacy advantage. "CWSI is delighted to be working with Three UK to bring Three Mobile Protect to UK businesses, building on the proven model established with Corrata and Three Mobile Protect in Ireland," said Ronan Murphy, CEO of CWSI. CWSI has signed a deal to provide mobile security for Three UK business customers. "Given the scale of Three’s ambition in the UK business market this has the potential to be a multi-million-euro contract for CWSI. We look forward to working with Three UK, and the broader Hutchison Group, to make simple, effective and affordable mobile and cloud security solutions available to all business customers.” "This is an exciting partnership for Three Business," said Snehal Bhudia, director of business propositions at Three UK. "The Three Mobile Protect service gives our customers state of the art security protection that will help to protect them from dynamic cybercrime without intruding on employee privacy, helping our customers operate safely and securely, wherever business takes them." Founded in 2010, CWSI is a provider of IT security and compliance solutions with offices in Dublin, London, and the Netherlands following its takeover of Blaud last month , which necessitated the raising of €21m in debt finance and equity investment. The company previously acquired UK-based cyber and cloud security services provider AVR in April 2021. The latest accounts for CWSI show the company made a loss of around €220,000 and employed 22 people in 2020. Three has nearly 10m customers in the UK and accounts for 28% of UK mobile data traffic. The company, which like Three Ireland is part of the Hutchison Group, employs 4,800 people at its offices in Reading and Glasgow, and 311 in its retail stores. Photo: Ronan Murphy.
