My Color of Beauty is helping to solve some of the challenges that women of color face when when it comes to finding the right products, strategies, and tips for their skin and hair. Their website aggregates some of the best advice from experts across the internet and makes their material available and searchable in one place. These online influencers, or Beauty Experience Officers  are already established bloggers or vloggers who create their own content which then gets shared on My Color of Beauty. Those who sign on as Beauty Experience Officers not only gain broader exposure, but also benefit from connecting with a network of other beauty and skincare bloggers. Topics covered range from makeup how-tos, to product reviews, to hair care tutorials. Visitors can search under a number of categories such as nail care, hair care, nighttime makeup, and skin care. Results are listed as visuals as opposed to text so that visitors can immediately hone in on what they’re looking for. The goal is for women of color to learn from from women who look like them–same hair texture, same skin tone, etc. My Color of Beauty demoed at Tech Cocktail’s Little Rock, Arkansas Startup Showcase and Mixer back in November.
