Drag’n’drop audio-mastering startup CloudBounce is joining the blockchain bandwagon, with plans to launch an initial coin offering (ICO). The company, which competes with services like Landr, announced its plans tonight at the Abbey Road Red incubator’s demo event in London. “We’re doing the next step in building a better community and better and faster audio-processing service,” said CEO Anssi Uimonen, who was speaking in a session of the incubator’s alumni (he’s on the far left of the photo above). “We’re basically going to tokenise CloudBounce, our existing business. We’ve solved the demand side of there being an actual need for this product. The next step is to actually enable the whole user community to earn from the jobs that come in daily.”
CloudBounce was part of Abbey Road Red’s 2016 intake, and went on to raise $250k of seed funding in January 2017. Its mastering tool is available for $4.90 per track, or a $19.90 monthly subscription. “We’re going to tokenise CloudBounce,” said Uimonen. “We’re going to do an ICO and pre-sale, and effectively enable users to earn CloudBounce tokens in exchange for renting out their CPU or GPU processing power for audio jobs.”

Abbey Road Graduate CloudBounce Closes $250K Seed Round
Abbey Road Red Incubator graduate CloudBounce, an instant digital audio mastering service, has raised a $250,000 seed round. Investors in this round include UK-based VC Ascension Ventures, and a group of Finnish business angels. CloudBounce offers instant feedback on an audio track using AI. The (artificially) intelligent machine, unlike Shazam or Echo, makes processing decisions based on context and to deliver the most relevant mastering. After receiving a staggering number of applications from companies across the globe followed by thorough assessment and a pitch day in Studio Three in February, we are happy to announce that we have now selected the three companies who will be joining Abbey Road Red's music tech incubation program for the next 6 months: OSSIC , Uberchord and CloudBounce . Each company is working on an impressive emerging technology for music, and all three address a very different market. OSSIC, from California, are developing advanced headphones as well as accompanying software for natural 3D spatial audio playback, Uberchord, from Berlin, are developing a series of unique chordal recognition technologies plus adaptive teaching methodologies to help people when learning a new instrument, and CloudBounce, from Finland, are combining machine listening with machine learning and autonomous processing to create intelligent audio systems for mastering.
