August 13, 2014 07:48|08 13, 2014 07:48 CJ Netmarble and CJ Games will be merged into a new entity Netmarble. The two parties announced on August 12 that they held a board of directors meeting and resolved to implement the merger. CJ Netmarble, accordingly, will be delisted as CJ E&M’s subordinate company. In accordance with the resolution made at the board of directors meeting, CJ Games will change its corporate name to Netmarble on August 26. After being merged with CJ Netmarble, its name “Netmarble” will be used as a corporate name of the merged entity. The merged entity will be led by Kwon Young-Shik, who now leads CJ Netmarble and CJ Games. The merged Netmarble will have more than 2,000 employees in its payroll. Netmarble will be engaged in both game development and publishing. The merged entity will be owned by CJ Netmarble advisor Bahng Jun-Hyuk (35.88%), CJ E&M (35.86%) and China’s Tencent (28.0%). enews@hankyung.com
