The entrepreneurs arrived in Des Moines over the weekend, and starting today have an almost unprecedented opportunity to learn about the insurance business first hand. “This initiative is about bringing innovation to the insurance industry,” said Jeff Russell, CEO of Delta Dental of Iowa. “I’m so excited to see this effort come to life. Multiple insurance companies are working together on this, which is a first among accelerators across the country. The Symposium brings together hundreds of international insurance industry leaders to address areas of mutual concern. Technology is always at or near the top of the list. “It’s win-win for everyone. Startups participating in the inaugural class of the Global Insurance Accelerator will demonstrate their products at the 2nd annual Global Insurance Symposium – ready customers,” Hemesath adds.
