He Teatro Circo de Murcia will soon have more advanced technology that will allow it to improve its acoustics and lighting, so that it can increase its offer of cultural shows in the future. The Local Government Board has approved at its meeting this Friday the file for the contracting, through a simplified open procedure, of a lighting control table and a new sound equipment at the Teatro Circo, located on Enrique Villar street. The contract is divided into two lots and a maximum financial amount of 105,738 euros. The project is part of the Department of Culture and Identitywho drives Diego Avilesy is justified by the fact that “more and more companies and companies from the cultural world are interested in offering their products at the Teatro Circobeing offered assemblies and shows that would be of great interest to the City Council but that, with the current technical provisions of the cultural facility, it is not possible to carry out”, has pointed out the spokesperson for the local Executive, Rebeca Pérezat the press conference after the weekly meeting of the Governing Board. The contract includes the acquisition of lighting materials, electric lamps, light projectors, sound equipment and monitors, as well as the necessary elements for its complete installation and start-up. In the specific case of circus theater, “the absence of the Black Box, the size of the opening of the stage and, above all, the design of the dome of the Theatre, mean that it has much more complex technical needs than other spaces”. These are translated, in the words of the Councilor for Culture“in the need to have more lighting instruments than would normally be necessary for a theatrical performance and some very particular acoustic needs, since the shape of the ceiling causes acoustic rebounds and other sound gaps that are very difficult to solve”. Until now, the deficiencies that this municipal cultural space shows, mainly with sound, were solved with the punctual rental of technical elements“which was causing an expense that is avoidable with the acquisition of new lighting and sound equipment.”
