Mingtiandi Username 2022/05/16 A former CapitaLand executive’s appointment to the top role at Singapore Press Holdings leads Mingtiandi’s collection of personnel changes from around Asia this week, as we also see a round of board-level changes at Hong Kong’s Wharf Holdings and NWS Holdings as well at Australia’s Goodman Group. Former CapitaLand CEO for Special Projects Gerald Yong  took  over as chief executive at Singapore Press Holdings starting 16 May, The Straits Times reported , citing a 13 May email to the recently-acquired company’s staff. Yong will replace Ng Yat Chung, who stepped down from the role along with other current Singapore Press Holdings directors upon the company’s delisting from the Singapore bourse after being bought out by Temasek Holdings-backed investment vehicle Cuscaden Peak Pte. Ltd. On Kiu Chow retired from the board of Hong Kong-based developer The Wharf (Holdings) at the conclusion of the company’s annual general meeting on 12 May, the company said in a notice to the Hong Kong stock exchange that same day. Now 71, Chow, had been a director with the company since 2011, and had served as deputy chairman of Wharf and as chairman of the developer’s China arm, Wharf China Development Ltd. New World Development subsidiary NWS Holdings announced on 13 May that Cheung Chin Cheung is retiring from his role as an executive director with the infrastructure investment firm after more than 31 years with the company. The chartered accountant has served as a director on the board of a number of NWS-invested companies, and has been primarily responsible for managing the company’s infrastructure business, according to NWS’ website. New York-based Vanessa Liu will join the board of Australian industrial-focused developer Goodman Group, and its manager, Goodman Funds Management Ltd. as an independent director, effective 1 June, the company said on 13 May. Liu will assume the role and take on new responsibilities while holding the same position at ASX-listed artificial intelligence company Appen Ltd. and as a co-Founder and CEO of SaaS technology company Sugarwork. Girish Singh has been named head of investments at Godrej Fund Management in Mumbai, with the new role representing a promotion from his former position as principal, according to a LinkedIn update . Singh has now been with the investment management division of Indian builder Godrej Properties since 2012, and previously spent more than two years with the developer itself, after completing his MBA at the University of Delhi. YC Lam has been promoted to associate director with Cindat Capital Management Ltd after more than six years with the fund manager. Lam took a step up from his role as vice president with the cross-border investment specialist this month and is now involved in sourcing, underwriting and asset management for Cindat’s investments in the US and the UK, according to a LinkedIn update . Surabhi Gupta is returning to Toronto-based Colliers after more than 10 years of holding multiple roles at real estate services firms JLL and CBRE. On 9 May, Gupta was appointed as senior director and head of office services for Colliers’ North India office. She was associate director for office leasing when she left the company in May 2011. Since then, she had served as a vice president at JLL for three months and a director for advisory and transaction services at CBRE also for a quarter of a year until her latest appointment .
