news, local-news, news, katherine, flight, airline, passenger, business Chartair is expanding its passenger flights in the NT by launching a fortnightly service between Darwin and Katherine from June 1 with an introduction price of $229 per person one way. The service will operate from Darwin on Monday at 7am returning from Katherine on Tuesday at 3pm. As one of the biggest general aviation companies in the country, Chartair has been flying Regional and remote Australia since 1974. The Katherine service is one of many under consideration to improve the connections across the Top End into Darwin. Seats go on sale through the Chartair website www.chartair.com.au, or by calling Operations on 1300 790 800 from Monday. "Despite the challenges of COVID-19, this is exciting news that Chartair is able to start a new schedule service for people who want to travel between Darwin and Katherine. "We will start by operating a fortnightly service departing Darwin and Katherine in a Cessna 402 twin engine aircraft," Chartair CEO Sarah Dewar said. Flights will depart from Chartair's private terminal. Please be aware that strict coronavirus procedures are in place and all passengers are subject to health screening.
