We created the first Hungarian anthology series for viewers, which, since it consists of 8 different episodes, gives the opportunity to tell eight separate stories. Each episode of the series takes place in different historical eras with the common denominator that they all take place in the same Cella. With this tool, it is possible to create stories about those convicted in the conceptual trials of the 1950s, about the patriots imprisoned during the 1948 revolution, about the oil-bleaching gangsters of the 90s, or about the bad decisions of today’s youth who got into bad company, even about personal crimes, the outcome of which is the given age, but we also guide the viewer into the prison of the future. Life in a Cella download follows the central idea of ​​”what if walls could tell stories”… The prison is one of the most cruel and inescapable inventions in human history. There are few punishments more horrific for a human being than when four gray they are locked inside a concrete wall.Freedom is valued by all human societies – but every society mercilessly deprives anyone who commits a crime. We can tell readers that we were able to see three episodes at a separate press screening. In these, the concept of sin was tested. Are all the episodes about this? Yes. Through eight human dramas, The Cell – Life to be Downloaded tells how the concepts of guilt and innocence have changed over the course of two hundred years in the same prison cell, from the middle of the 19th century to the near future. In the storms of history, political powers played with the concept of sin and human life like cat and mouse. But it also raises questions such as how does a half-dead Hungarian scientist help Yuri Gagarin, who is drifting in space? Is there a way out of the clutches of a sexually overheated Nazi prison warden? Can a mother who killed her child be forgiven? Is there a motivation for one person to “sit” the punishment of another? Is there a difference between guilty and guilty within a cell? How do we react to each other in particularly difficult situations? Who and why chooses cruelty and who fights for hope? In this episode, after the 1956 revolution, the engineer Kálmán Vértesi, who was convicted in a conceptual trial, is exempted from the death sentence, in return for putting his expertise at the service of the power that imprisoned him. This part is about how your conscience can cope with this situation. From the first episode, we travel through time in such a way as to present the most complex and shocking situations, and chronology was neither an aspect nor a background in this. The second episode is based on an actual case. Yes, the second episode is 2020, in which Eszter, raising her sick daughter alone, was convicted of murder. His cellmates do not take kindly to the stranger. Outcast turns into outright hatred when it turns out that he committed the murder against a child. According to the rules of the prison, the convicts decide that he must die behind bars. This section is based on an actual event. In September 1993, a mother helped her terminally ill 11-year-old daughter die. The child was struggling with unbearable pain and would have died within a few months. The mother threw the hair dryer into the little girl’s bath water. At first instance, the court sentenced the woman to a two-year suspended prison sentence citing active euthanasia, which was later classified as homicide by the Supreme Court, but she was eventually pardoned by the President of the Republic. It was sung by Zséda, it’s a title song lasting a few seconds, which consciously breaks the episodes starting in Cella with its astonishing musical world. Many characters are moved by the 8 episodes. It really is, and although I don’t want to single out anyone, I would like to mention that we worked with 74 actors, such as Gábor Jászberényi, Zsuzsa Járó, Adrienn Réti, Zsófia Szamosi, Zoltán Rátóti, Péter Trokán and Andrea Balázs.
