Ridgeway Capital backs MBO of Real Deals owner Caspian Media By Tweet on Twitter Ridgeway Capital has backed the management buyout of Caspian Media, the owner of Real Deals. Ridgeway has acquired the business from LDC. Caspian was launched in 1996. In addition to Real Deals, the company owns SME website Real Business and a portfolio of events, including the First Women Awards , which it runs in partnership with the CBI, the Amazon Growing Business Awards, the Private Equity Awards and the FD Surgery programme. Caspian also provides content marketing services to a number of international brands. “Over recent years, Caspian Media has transformed – from traditional publisher to digitally-led media owner, events business and content marketing agency,” Caspian Media managing director Steven Randell said in a statement. Ridgeway Capital invests in UK-based SME businesses, typically writing cheques of between £500,000 and £5m. The firm is led by partners Ari Stavropoulos, Michael Loizou and John Drinkwater. Richard Wilkey of Harrison Clark Rickerby provided legal advice to the management team. TAGS
