Chandrayan-3, the third lunar exploration mission, by the Indian Space  Research Organisation (ISRO) is all set to be launched by August 2022, R.Venkatraman, the  Deputy Director of Vehicle Assemblies and Launch Facilities, ISRO, has said. Interacting with students of Queen Mira International School at the Space Talk  Show on Monday, he said, “Chandrayan -2 Vikram had  crashlanded as the lander and orbiter separation was difficult. We at ISRO never give up. We learn  lessons from our failure to make our next mission success. We have put powerful engine for  Chandrayan-3, which is scheduled for launch in August, and have learnt to control wobbling and  oscillation.” To a question from QMIS Managing Director Abinath Chandran as to whether there was  inter-connectivity between the two disciplines – Astronomy and Astrology, Dr. Venkatraman  answered in the affirmative and said, “We do follow the time factor (during launches) to some  extent, but there are occasions when we have seen failure when there has been one second delay  and success despite 300 micro-seconds of delay.”

A seminar on ‘Identification of abusive relationship and designing mechanism to prevent gender-based violence’ was held at Alagappa University, Karaikudi, on  March 9. Vaidehi Vijayakumar, Vice-Chancellor, Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal, in her address, said socially specified roles advocated for women in India prevented them from enjoying equal rights in public and private spaces. Violence was a major hindrance for women’s allround development; and moreover, abusive relationship always involved an imbalance of power and control in the society. T.K. Rajasekar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Madurai (North), in his  address, spoke on various enforcement agencies functioning for prevention of gender violence. N. Murugeswari of Bharathidasan University,  K.N. Jeyakumar of Periyar University, Salem, and K. Latha, Principal, Government Law College, Tirunelveli, also spoke.

The Campus Connect is conducting the first of its kind Global Youth Leadership Conference 2016 (GYLC). GYLC is a congress of aspiring leaders and entrepreneurs which will be spearheaded by established entrepreneurs and well-known persons excelling in their respective fields. The two-day conclave will be held in Manesar on 24th and 25th September. The Campus Connect (TCC) is a growing youth leadership development platform that aims to bridge the gap between the youth and the corporate and promote entrepreneurship among young minds through way of providing live work experience. JALANDHAR, India - Oct. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- Striving to bridge gap between Industry and Academia, Tech Mahindra (Tech M) and Lovely Professional University (LPU) have collaborated for offering industry specific programs. These programs are to be specially designed for LPU B Tech/ M Tech students as co-branded programs. So, LPU students are now to get industry requisite training right from Day-1 of joining these programs. For this, Tech Mahindra has stepped with illustrated ‘Campus Connect’ initiative. As per MoU, both the partners will also work to enhance employability and selection of students. Creating a center of excellence, Tech Mahindra & LPU will jointly enrich knowledge of LPU students, faculty and Tech Mahindra employees. Promoting upcoming technologies, both collaborators will also conceptualize research projects on need basis. The principal technical and research areas are around contemporary computing technology areas. For this, primary activities will include capability, curriculum and required skills development. Training for foreign language courses, including Spanish, Mandarin, French, German, will also be provided along with University Curriculum. Tech Mahindra Centre Council Head Mr Tarunpreet Singh further informed about the training schedule: “We would like to focus on fresher training program in two steps. In the first year after the campus selection, the selected students can complete a special elective ‘Foundation’
. After this, another course termed as ‘advanced’
will be taught in 8th semester.” Mr Singh also elaborated that ‘Elective’
can also be taught in third year to all those students who would like to sit in IT industry campus placement. Its advanced form can spread across full 4th year of the program. Mr Singh was accompanied by Technical Learning Services Head Dr (Colonel) Surendra Patnaik and Delivery Manager Vivek Gupta. Welcoming the Tech M officials, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal shared: “We feel proud on having one of the top companies Tech Mahindra as a great collaborator to ease out our students in their employability. We would also like to engage Tech Mahindra senior executives in LPU Board of Studies to contribute towards industry centric courses. In fact, LPU is keen to provide industry oriented education to its students so that they get selected for the industry even before completion of their programs.”
