CSI created a haptic interface, known as the Neo, which allows the user to "feel" tissue when using laparoscopic or robotic instruments in a manner that neither interferes with their manual dexterity nor introduces additional complexity and fatigue. The Neo provides haptic feedback directly from the point of contact between the instrument and the surgical site while allowing the surgeon to regain the sensory queues previously experienced.
