Larkin departs CNET for startup Mark Larkin Mark Larkin, president of CNET Media at Red Ventures, will be leaving after 25 years to join a startup project. As president, Larkin oversaw the CNET Media business and strategy, and under him, CNET evolved from a consumer electronics vertical to the world’s largest technology media brand. Before this, Larkin was executive vice president and general manager of the CNET Media Group at CBS Interactive, where he was responsible for leading consumer tech, business-to-business, games and media brands including CNET, Gamespot, TV Guide, and ZDNet, among others. In 2008, he was named vice president and general manager of CBSNews.com. in 2014, he was named SVP and general manager of CBS Interactive Tech. Previously, he has served as VP of Programming at CNET. Larkin graduated from San Francisco State University.
