Destiny 2 Bug Is Causing a Raid Exotic to Malfunction

Mar 21, 2023

Published 13 minutes ago As more and more of Destiny 2's Exotics keep breaking, one player finds out about a damage bug plaguing one of the most iconic guns in the game. The Warlocks of Destiny 2 cannot catch a break, as players have discovered a peculiar bug that causes Well of Radiance to severely reduce the damage output of one of the most iconic Raid-exclusive Exotic guns in the game. Raid Exotics have often been considered as chase items in Destiny 2 , boasting unique designs, styles, and functionality and placing these weapons in a different class from Legendaries and, at times, from other Exotics. Raids have often been considered the ultimate challenge in Destiny 2, requiring a fireteam of six Guardians to come together to claim victory through teamwork, tactical awareness, and masterful gameplay. One of the most challenging raids in Destiny's history is the Last Wish, where players had to delve into the heart of the newly discovered Dreaming City to slay Riven of a Thousand Voices. All lore implications aside, the simple fact that only two clans of Destiny 2 managed to complete the raid in the first 24 hours stands as a testament to Last Wish's difficulty. The reward for triumphing against this seemingly impossible challenge was the One Thousand Voices Exotic Fusion Rifle, the only Heavy Fusion Rifle to exist in Destiny 2. As the game has progressed years beyond Last Wish's challenges, The One Thousand Voices has eked out a space in the conversations surrounding Destiny 2 's DPS meta, thanks to its unparalleled destructive capabilities. With Lightfall's current technical state, however, it would seem that even this paracausal weapon is finding itself in the middle of a bug. Reddit user Wolfram521 has taken to the social media site to post their finding on One Thousand Voices dealing less damage while under the effects of both Radiant and Well of Radiance. The post provides a detailed account with damage values and dps values of different test scenarios to show that the weapon deals close to 42% less damage while under these buffs. The post shows how buffs like three Solar Weapon Surge Armor Mods and Weapons of Light from Ward of Dawn provide a 22% and 25% damage increase, respectively. Yet the effects of Radiant and Well of Radiance reduce the dps output by 41.7%. Considering the reliance on Well in endgame encounters, this damage reduction can cause the weapon to lose relevancy. While this isn't Well of Radiance's first damage-related bug in Destiny 2: Lightfall , the involvement of specific weapons in the list concerns a lot of players. The Solar 3.0 rework adding new sources of Radiant application through normal gameplay is, unfortunately, exacerbating the issue further. Ironically, Forsaken's most iconic Exotic weapon is being hindered by a super introduced in the same expansion. With a mid-season update aimed at improving Destiny 2's Primary weapons in the works, players are hoping for Bungie to fix the bug and restore this weapon to its former glory. Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
