Staff Reports Health data integration company Bridge Connector will cease operations on Dec. 31, a move resulting in 154 employee layoffs. The closing will come a mere three months after the Nashville-based company secured $25.5 million in Series B funding led by its main investor, Axioma Ventures (read more on that here ). That figure brought the 2017-founded Bridge Connector’s funding total to $45 million. According to a document filed with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the employees being laid off are not represented by a collective bargaining agreement. Bridge Connector has seen a busy 2020. In April, it announced another $10 million in funding from Axioma Ventures . In addition, and for the year, the company had hired 35 employees at that point. In October, Bridge Connector, for which David Wenger serves as CEO, announced a partnership with California-based data cloud company Snowflake. The company also was assisting local hospitals with the integration of COVID-19 code related to electronic health records. Bridge Connector officials could not be reached for comment.
