Fried chicken The year of Portland fried chicken continues: Little Big Burger's Micah Camden announced plans to open a fried chicken joint, Son of a Biscuit, in the former Pizzicato Pizza space at 2045 S.E. Last week, we predicted that 2014 could go down " as the year Portland went all-in on fried chicken . " At the time, we were talking about Reverend's BBQ, the Sellwood fried chicken shack and barbecue joint coming in spring from Laurelhurst Market's Ben Dyer, Jason Owens, and David Kreifels. But rumors were already swirling about other players pushing their fried chicken chips forward. Today brings a bit of confirmation (and validation). Micah Camden, the local impresario behind Little Big Burger, Blue Star Donuts and the recently-reviewed Boxer Ramen , is set to open a fried chicken joint of his own, Son of a Biscuit, in the former Pizzicato space at 2045 S.E. Division St., Portland Monthly reports . Additionally, Camden and partner Katie Poppe are remodeling the former Fujin Chinese restaurant space 3549 S.E. Hawthorne Blvd., for a second Blue Star Donuts outpost. If our guess is correct, Son of a Biscuit and Reverend's won't be the only fried chicken joints coming this year. Stay tuned.
