Even Financial acquires credit card rewards app On Tuesday, financial services company Even acquired Birch Finance, an app that helps users find credit card rewards programs. Birch’s CEO Alex Cohen will join the Even team as senior director, credit card marketplace. Even will work on scaling Birch’s technology and use it to build customer acquisition technology in the credit card market. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. [ Press release ]   Jackpocket raises $16M to modernize the lottery Jackpocket , an app that gives users a secure way to order official state lottery tickets, raised $16 million in new funding, bringing its total funding amount to $25 million. Funds will be used to expand the company to new jurisdictions throughout the U.S. This is just one of many headlines the company is making — they also just moved their headquarters to WeWork's new HQ concept in Midtown. From there, the app pushes notifications for when an item is due back to its owner, and all clothing is professionally cleaned before being returned. Later this year, the company plans to have additional capabilities, like same-day request fulfillment, available.
