July 27, 2016 04:30 AM Eastern Daylight Time TEL AVIV, Israel--( BUSINESS WIRE )--BillRun Technologies Ltd., a Tel Aviv based billing company specializing in open-source and cloud solutions, has completed implementation of an advanced billing system for quad-play communication services at Monaco Telecom (MT). The financial scope of the project is worth several hundreds of thousands of dollars. BillRun sets sail across the Mediterranean MT services the Principality of Monaco which is located on the French Riviera and hosts more than 300,000 tourists a year, of which one third are guests at conferences and meetings. This demographic constraint presents a challenge for MT which has chosen BillRun to implement its new comprehensive billing and customer care solution, following BillRun’s successful implementation of a billing system at Tel Aviv-based Golan Telecom. Martin Péronnet, CEO of Monaco Telecom, says “We are carrying out a full transformation of our IT, from a legacy multi-vendor complex and CAPEX / OPEX-intensive system to a full open-source solution. It is probably one of the first times in the world that an incumbent operator offering a complete B-to-B and B-to-C telecom solution for mobile, fixed, television, voice, data and hosting has accomplished such a transformation. We have chosen BillRun as our partner because BillRun is one of the best open-source billing systems and we have been able to deliver almost all the B-to-C in a year and a half.” Open-source architecture leveraged to integrate complex systems Ofer Cohen, CEO of BillRun, noted that the open-source project took one year. “This is BillRun’s first project outside Israel,” he says “and included an entire reassessment and integration of MT’s core and supplementary systems with BillRun.” "In the first phase of the project we implemented BillRun’s billing and CRM systems for VoIP and Broadband for MT. In the second phase we implemented these applications for mobile and VoD (Video on Demand) environments. " Cohen added: "The BillRun team successfully migrated the company’s outdated proprietary system to an open-source architecture, including training and transfer of knowledge. This highly complex project involved close cooperation of multiple teams from both companies, and the system has been fully operational since May 2015, resulting in a highly satisfied customer.” “Using open-source systems,” says Cohen, “means that MT is not bound to any specific vendor. Following our success with MT, we intend to expand BillRun’s global activities. " Contacts
