The presenter has been hosting the usual Friday edition of the ITV daytime show with the former X Factor star while he has been doing a full-time stint. Earlier this month, Dermot joined Josie Gibson at the helm before on Monday (January 22) he was joined by Sian Welby as she stepped into the main hosting role for the first time. But Alison hasn't been putting in extra shifts on the popular programme due to her other commitments. The 48-year-old has been busy performing in her home city in Birmingham Hippodrome's pantomime production of Jack and the Beanstalk. Starring as the Spirit of the Beans, Alison has spent the last month performing to audiences alongside the likes of Matt Slack, Doreen Tipton, Samantha Womack and Andrew Ryan. Taking to Instagram on Sunday (January 21), the TV star spoke directly to the camera while elaborately dressed in character - with a feathered blue headdress stealing the show. She said: "Hi everyone, I'm just giving you a heads up that there's only seven days left until the end of Jack and the Beanstalk at the Birmingham Hippodrome." She continued: "I'm going to be gutted when it's over because I've loved being the spirit of the bean but make sure you come and experience such a funny, entertaining and lovely panto." It comes after This Morning viewers lodged official complaints over complaints made by Alison on the show. It was revealed that the show has been hit with almost 100 complaints following comments the presenter made about "naughty" children on the programme. Alison sent a message to fans while dressed in character (Image: Alison Hammond Instagram) The comment was made during her latest appearance at the helm of the programme alongside Dermot O'Leary last Friday (January 12). She is said to have described children who may have been at home watching the show, which airs from 10am until 12.30pm every weekday, as "naughty." Confirming the 86 complaints to The Mirror , an Ofcom spokesperson said: "The majority of complaints related to comments made by Alison Hammond about children who are not in school at the time of broadcast as naughty."
